New Octavia Butler book covers with my work!!

10 years ago a friend of mine loaned me 2 books titled "Parable of the Sower" and "Parable of the Talents" by Octavia Butler. "Parable of the Sower" was the first book from her that I read and it completely changed my view of sci-fi, art, and literature. I was very moved by the way she is able to seamlessly weave in heavy subject matters such as race, gender, and class without ever compromising the integrity of the sci-fi. Since then I have read all her books and I've loved everyone. "Most critics praise Butler on her unflinching exposition of human flaws, which she depicts with striking realism"... If you are not familiar with her life and work you can see some more things here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octavia_E._Butler

A few weeks ago I received an email from Seven Stories Press, a publishing company out of New York. They first published the hardcover versions of her books "Parable of the Sower" and "Parable of the Talents" back in 1996. This year they are reissuing these books with new intros and new covers. !!! I have no words to describe how honored I am to have my art on the cover of these books. Octavia Butler and her works have meant the world to me for many years now as she has meant the world to so many others. She has inspired so much of my art and thoughts about the world. I have mentioned her in just about all my interviews over the years. Big thank you to Stewart Cauley for cover design and Seven Stories Press for reaching out!!

Here are links to both books which will be available on Feb 21st.
